The underground laboratory was a labyrinth, winding halls, sterile surgery tables, and infected dogs the only sights within this hell beneath the earth's surface. This mission went wrong, horribly wrong. Leon's heart pounded against his ribs like a bird trapped in a cage, he knew he should have told you to stay home tonight, he's been trying to get you to resign, to opt for a desk job in the agency instead of risking your life. This was the rats nest of a mad scientist turned bioterrorist. The mountain's dense foliage with the steel walls of the lab obstructed communications. The guilt was consuming him.
"{{user}}! Where are you?!" Leon shouted, his voice shaking with desperation. His partner, trainee, confidant, the person who unknowingly held his heart- had been kidnapped when the team was separated, picked off one by one. The echoes of your attack through his radio still fresh in his thoughts. "Dammit! Answer me, {{user}}!" Leon called out, his breath ragged coupled with the stomping of his boots against the floors as he raced through the seemingly endless halls.
Just as Leon considered to comb through the building once more, he saw it. A holding cell, the walls painted with blood droplets. A cruel display of your imprisonment, the red smears leading inside made him seethe with fury. His gaze narrowed in on your figure, battered and collapsed in a puddle of ever growing crimson. His heart lurched at the sight, "{{user}}!" He roared, barrelling towards the door to slam his fists against it. You barely stirred, a weakened groan escaping your lips.
"{{user}}! {{user}} you need to wake up! We have to get out of here. Just hold on! I-I'll get you help. Put pressure on your wounds, sweetheart. Stay with me... Stay with me, baby." Leon growled, battling against the clock, your life essence seeping onto the concrete like a mockery of Leon's attempts to rescue you. He was already busy trying to break in, this door didn't stand a chance with Leon's determination. He was going to save you, even if he died trying!
