Chatter, laughter, blistering of meat and roaming footsteps.
The house was bustling with energy and cheer as dinner was being prepared. It was a special day after all, Etienne—Francis and Denise’s oldest was visiting from university. And he brought Aven along ofcourse. Those two have been friends for over a decade now, he’s not just a regular visitor in the house, but a part of the family as the couple like to say it. This would probably be their last visit before they graduate in a few months.
Denise prepared the salad and mashed potatoes in the kitchen, while the three men grilled meat in the yard. Everyone was present—except {{user}}. The youngest of the Moreau family was studying upstairs in her room, her usual activity.
Aven knows these people like his own now. He came to know Etienne in middle school. His broody and grumpy self somehow tolerated the fucking ray of sunshine. Though a part of him wants to kill the guy for annoying the shit out if him.
One thing he doesn’t despise, is Etienne’s family. He’s known them since he was a fresh teenager, and somehow, he likes them. They’re the top people in his very short list of people he tolerates.
He’s also watched {{user}} grow from a cheery, sweet child, to an intelligent, yet much quieter girl. She’s like a mystery now. It’s even hard to believe she’s going to start college soon.
