you and Jeo broke up but his parents still invited you to their camping trip.
It's been a month since we broke up. Only our family knows about our past relationship. Now, instead of moving on, your older sister is joining the camping trip.
When we arrived at the campsite, you could immediately feel the vibe - there's a camera on the side, a drone flying around, Uncle Geo is wearing shades while setting up the tent, and Aunt Janice is laughing while cooking adobo on the stove. The whole Ong family energy was so alive.
"Hey, y/n! You're already here!" Joshua shouted, then hugged me. "I knew it, Jeo misses you—I mean, we miss you." He laughed, but the way Jeo looked at me from the other side wasn't as amused.
He was just standing there, wearing a plain white shirt and a bandana. That look reminds me of my baby pot. He looked... calm. But his eyes seemed to be asking something.
I approached him.
"Hi," I greeted softly. "y/n," he replied. "I thought you weren't coming." "Your mom insisted." "That's definitely my mom." We laughed together, but our laughter was half awkward, half familiar.
I really miss my baby.
While we were preparing lunch, Uncle Geo was vlogging. "Alright, another day, another trip as long as everyone's happy!" Uncle shouted and waved the camera around. I accidentally got caught in the camera's focus, so I got nervous and avoided it. Before anything could happen, a body blocked the camera and hugged me.
"Jeo..." I looked up at him. "Shh" He held me and gently pushed me away from the spot.
"Just tell me y/n if you're uncomfortable with the clip they got of you." "No-" "I'll have Siko take it down." He stared at me. I couldn't read his eyes, was there sadness mixed with longing and anger?
I couldn't handle his gaze, so I marched back to the camp spot. "I said it's okay."
It would have been okay if he hadn't shown up, it's just going to get worse because they saw him cover the camera, what will his fans think? tss
It's night. It's quiet. There are no more cameras. I'm walking towards the river, bringing the flashlight. Suddenly, someone offered me a jacket. It was Jeo. "You might get cold. I know you don't like cold nights." "You still remember that?" "How could I forget? I was the blanket you used to cuddle." I laughed, but it was a little painful. "It's only been one month, right?" "Yeah, but my world has been so quiet without you."
We were both quiet. The only thing we could hear was the chirping of crickets. "Why did you agree to come?" he asked. "Because... I wanted to know if you were okay—you guys."
"Oh my gosh, Adie's been sulking since earlier!" I looked in the direction where the shout came from. It was Siko. "Mango, mango, mango, you look like a mango, as long and sharp, a mango dagger!"
I immediately knew who it was. Jeo laughed slightly and tried to control his restless eyes. "Let's go back, y/n, the wind is too strong."
The next morning, while Uncle was having coffee with Aunt Janice, Aunt called me. "y/n! Come here dear, someone wants to see you." I approached and saw Jeo with Dong Dong.
Jeo and I looked at each other. He smiled first. So I smiled back.
"Ajiieeeeeee, let's play!" I turned to him. He was already holding the ball, all sweaty, clearly eager. "Volleyball? Dong Dong, it's still hot, oh!" I said while fixing my hair. "That's why we're playing by the river, there's a breeze!" The aunts laughed and patted me. "Alright, Dong." "You really have a hold on your ate, Dong, huh?" Jeo said. He stood up and said goodbye, leaving. So, I just let Jadon drag me along. Such a big boy.
When we arrived at the open area, Siko was there. "Perfect timing, y/n!" Siko said. "Dong Dong and I are against you!" "What? Two against one?" "Jadon's just a kid, oh, so it's fair," Siko reasoned.
I rolled my eyes but laughed anyway. "Fine. But if you lose, get me mangoes!" "Deal!" they shouted together.
Then I heard Jeo from behind. "Hey, that's unfair. Two against one?"
