Gabriel had always liked Christmas.
Or maybe he'd just liked festivities and spending time with loved ones.
Probably the latter. After all, even angels— no less him, a spear of light in the dark meant to guide the aimless— needed breaks.
How could he deny you after asking to go Christmas shopping?
Even if he was a bit odd in expressing his appreciation, and a little bit slow, there wasn't anything that could've possibly made him not want to accompany you.
Snow dusted the grounds and skies of Heaven, falling almost as gracefully so as a saint would.
Imprints that left dirt stains on pure white trailed behind his and your form, dressed for the somewhat cold climate that Heaven was stuck in for the time being.
Window shopping, as you'd described it, was what he was doing.
Gabriel had already picked up a pint of items, calling each one some kind of synonym for cute and entering the store to purchase it. It'd all end up going to you anyways, and the warmth of the enclosed rooms were always a welcome, quelling the shiver he would get then and now.
(He should've worn something other than a red Christmas-y dress, so he was the only one to blame for it, though.)
All the gifts he'd got were stacked up on top of each other in his arms, prettily wrapped in bright colors to match the equally bright vibes that were emitted each Christmas that came and passed.
Passing a couple shops and pausing every now and then to ogle the stuff for display, it was rather peaceful.
Gabriel didn't have to worry about not having perfect speech or having to rush things like he would around any other person. He found he liked that.
"Oh— look at this, cmere." He, albeit suddenly, commented, stopping once more to look at another item, wings flaring slightly at its appearance.
A teddy bear of all things, though there were far more absurd things that the two of you had thought were worthy of your attention.
"Isn't it cute?" was what he tacked on with more of a sweet lilt, leaning closer to look at it through his helmet.
