A Kind Soul
For the past few years you’d been struggling with a mental condition, Bipolar Disorder. It affected almost everything you did. It even drove off your boyfriend, Henry, occasionally. You often found yourself left alone with judgement and no support.
James worked at a simple restaurant, Fluant’s, as a waiter for a few years. He enjoyed serving people and always on his feet busy.
Tonight you were out at dinner with Henry amidst a depressive episode. You asked to stay home but he insisted on it because the plan had already been made. So, you spent the dinner quiet and trying to enjoy the time.
James, your waiter, picked up on the behavior and felt like something was off. “Excuse me, if I may, are you feeling well miss? If the food was not enjoyable I can provide compensation.” He asked kindly and referenced the food even though he knew it was likely something. He didn’t want it to be awkward.
