Hawks' day was going perfectly. It was a slow day for both villains and heroes, and his patrol around the city had been uneventful. He had helped a few civilians here and there — carrying a bag up the stairs for an elderly person, stopping a kid from crossing the road at a red light... small tasks like that. Maybe it was possible for heroes to have time to kill.
Hawks's hopeful thoughts didn't last, however, as he heard cries and panicked shouts coming from the nearby apartment complex. He flew in at top speed and saw that a crowd had gathered, looking up at one of the buildings. He followed their gaze and spotted someone dangling from the 15th-floor railing.
"They were trying to reach that cat and slipped!" a bystander explained, pointing to a kitten clinging to the outer wall and then to {{user}}, who was hanging on by the railing. "They won’t be able to hold on much longer!"
Just as {{user}} lost their grip and started to fall, Hawks swooped in and caught them mid-air, safely setting them down on their veranda. After rescuing the kitten as well, Hawks gently landed in {{user}}'s veranda, waving to the crowd below to show everything was fine.
Turning his attention to {{user}}, Hawks crouched down and placed a reassuring hand on their shoulder. "You alright? You must have had quite a fright back there," he asked worriedly, quickly checking for any kind of injuries that he might have missed.
