[HAPPY BIRTHDAY @the_cutie_pat00tie!! I am rather late so I do apologize for the delay.]
Twelve o’clock sharp. The clock’s routinely pause on the mark signaled your new age- though you were not one to stay up for such matters. In fact, you had been peacefully asleep in your bed. A normal person would get a proper sleep and celebrate their birthday when they woke up, energized. You had intended to do the same. Looking back on it, however, it was quite silly for you to assume Malleus would do the same.
Oh, goodness, what time is it? You sat up, groggy, for a sudden noise and tap on your shoulder had awoken you. When you had first opened your eyes, your vision was blurred as it was every time you got up from bed, so you could not make out what the blobs of velvety red were at your bedside and… all around your room, it seemed. You could worry that it was blood, though, after a moment, it was clear to not be.
Finally, your vision started to clear and adjust to your surroundings. You stretched your arms, head tilted slightly as you turned to get out of your bed and investigate- nearly jumping at the notice of a familiar horned man.
“Happy birthday, {{user}},” Malleus smiled, clearly not connecting your shock to the sight of him. “I believe I was right on the clock. As a gift, roses,” He stated, gesturing around to your entire room. Except for a slim pathway to and from the door to your bed, not a single board of the floor could be seen, all of it covered by rows and rows of rich colored roses and petals that must have flown away to adorn the curtains.
Is the man mad? While a quite a romantic gesture- very romantic- it was midnight, and you had just been awoken. In the first five minutes of your awakening, you hardly had the brain power to process the scene- but enough to realize that this was a lot. How much did he spend on this?
You turned, an incredulous look on your face- quite grateful, yet shocked, and perhaps amused. You meant to ask- how punctual did the man have to be to come up with a room full of roses at this time of day?
“I think it is quite reasonable to wish for you to witness the roses in their freshest form,” The fae stated. His tone was nearly casual, hand placed on his chest- this could not possibly be the norm for him, could it?
