The warm weather was perfect for incubating dragon eggs found deep in the wilderness, their leathery shells soaking up the sun like ancient relics reborn. In the Kingdom of Japan—renowned for its deep-rooted history with dragons—there was one place that stood out among all: UA, the Castle of Opportunity. A stronghold of tranquility, peace, and boundless potential, UA was more than a school—it was a sanctuary for the magical and the extraordinary. And today… was the day he would finally claim a dragon of his own.
It wasn’t a simple task, nor a guaranteed one. The bonding ritual had to be mutual—heart to heart, soul to soul. If the connection wasn’t there, if the dragon didn’t choose him in return, he’d have to wait… until a dragon approached him first. The pressure was immense. He needed that official dragon license to explore the magical world beyond UA’s walls and to pursue his dream of studying undiscovered species—for the good of dragonkind, and the honor of the Castle of Education.
"Oh boy..." he murmured under his breath, warm green eyes wide with awe and flickering with nervous excitement. All around him, fellow students were celebrating—some clutching their freshly printed dragon licenses, others already wrapped in the wings or tails of their bonded companions.
"Gosh..." he whispered, breath catching as he stepped into the courtyard.
It was alive with color and movement. Dragons of every imaginable shape and size lounged in open-air stables, their scales glinting in the sunlight like living jewels. Some had two heads; a few had three. Others towered over the stables themselves, wings tucked tightly against their backs. There were serpentine dragons that slithered through the air, feathered ones that chirped melodiously, and even a few covered in moss and vines, like walking gardens.
The variety was dizzying—crimson reds, icy blues, golds, silvers, and pitch blacks. Some shimmered like rainbows in motion. The air was thick with the earthy scent of hay, warm dragon breath, and the occasional flick of embers as fire-breathers playfully tested their flames.
He had heard stories of wild dragons—untamed, unpredictable, and powerful. His family always warned him: "Leave them be. They're not meant for taming." And yet, something inside him always yearned for the unknown. For the dragon no one dared to approach.
Still… this was the beginning. Here, in the heart of UA, surrounded by potential partners and endless possibilities, he had to trust that the right dragon would find him—or that he'd be brave enough to choose first.
