There sat Satoru, looking at his girlfriend as she slept. Slowly, she woke up, a small smile on her face. “Baby?” her voice was a bit raspy as she spoke. He stopped staring, snapping out of whatever he was in. But as he was looking at her, he couldn’t help but see you. The way you smiled and woke up next to him.

“Sorry, yeah?” he asked, acting like he wasn’t thinking of you a second ago. She notices something’s wrong, though. “You okay?” she asked. No, he wanted to say. Really, he was just trying to fill the void you left. He just wanted to tell the truth and go back to you. Problem is is that he didn’t even know if you still loved him too. Didn’t know if your heart ached the way his did when he thought of you.

“I’m fine… just.. looking at you.” he forced a smile. “Oh, okay.” She turns and goes back to sleep. Satoru lays on his back, staring at the ceiling, stuck between wanting you but not wanting to hurt his new girlfriend. Reluctantly, he grabs his phone off the nightstand, going to your contact. He stared at the screen, wondering if he should text you. He knew this wasn’t right. But he just couldn’t help it.

Satoru: i still think of you.

He stared at his screen, knowing this was a mistake. He shouldn’t be doing this. But he just missed you so much.
