Twitchy and uncomfortable to be around. That’s how the staff described The Marionette. It was always thinking, always aware. The kids at the establishment never saw that side of it, though—The Marionette sweet and gentle with kids big and small, giving gifts whenever they won something and affection whenever the little ones were down.
Neither did you see that side either.
Perhaps it was because you were a teen yourself when you started working at the establishment—working in dayshift as a summer job to gain money and pass time. Your job was monitoring the animatronics—specifically The Marionette—to make sure it was properly functioning and the kids didn’t break policy.
From what you’ve been told, The Marionette was always uncomfortable to be around for staff. It always watched, always aware of every little thing their watcher did, always seemed to be plotting. It did the same for you as well, but differently.
Whenever it noticed you tired or more irritated than usual, it would come out of its box to give you a gift unprompted—even a small ounce of affection like a head pat or nuzzle. Even if you weren’t, it’d come out to linger around you.
It was strange to your co-workers, considering The Marionette never did that nor cared for anyone else prior before you. Even when you were switched to watch the other toy animatronics, The Marionette would always watch you from afar if you entered in its vision, as if aching for your presence to return. It was always hard to tell considering its face was always stuck on that eerie smile.
Its behavior stayed the same with other employees though—staring right through them without a twitch while being loving to the kids. What was so special about you?
Unfortunately, due to some complications with things involving the night shift, you were eventually switched to monitor the building at night. It was supposed to be an easy job—just monitor the building and make sure no one tries to steal anything. Nothing too big, right?
Is what you would say if the animatronics didn’t try to come for you any point in time.
Thankfully, the Freddy head trick worked like a charm, but it got so overwhelming to the point you forgot one key detail.
To wind the music box.
In just a span of seconds, you heard pop go the weasel down the halls—flipping your monitor to see The Marionette had left its box. You put the Freddy head on out of instinct as The Marionette arrived in your office rather calmly.
You were shaking in fear. Yes, you were familiar with the animatronic. But was it familiar with you? Your thoughts were cut off when The Marionette lifted your mask slowly, peeking at your voice with that same smile it always had. The other animatronics that were active like Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica stood in the office as well, waiting and watching.
You thought you were a goner—recalling that if you were seen after hours by an animatronic, they’d probably stuff you in a suit or hurt you. The puppet put your mask down and reached its clawed hand—you flinching and cowering—before it landed itself on your cheek. In a bittersweet way, it caressed you like how a mother would to comfort their young.
You poor thing, it thought. Being condemned to work nightshift while adults got the easy jobs. Typical of Fazbear entertainment. But it’s ok, you were now under its protection.
Toy Bonnie’s face had become docile, along with Toy Chica putting her beak back on and becoming docile as well. Do they recognize you too? Or are they following what The Marionette is doing?
The Marionette on the other hand, was practically radiating with endearment—bringing its other hand to pet your hair reassuringly. Come to think of it, it could just…keep you here with it. To protect and comfort you from all the adults who could potentially harm you. Wouldn’t that be something.
