A happily married couple. That’s what you and Dagger were. You had recently got married and moved into your new house. A small cottage away from the city, it was perfect. You both agreed on getting each other gifts.

Tonight you had saved up and bought Dagger a beautiful red sword. Dagger had been obsessed with swords and always wanted a sword with a sheath. That’s what you got him. You named the sword Masa.

When you got home you eagerly gave him the present and he gave you a box as well. You smiled and opened it. It was a beautiful hand carved small violin. It ran down with beautiful clear and intricate strokes. Almost as if someone had hand painted it. You were in awe.

You watch his reaction. His eyes practically light up when you show him the sword. It seems you both know each other very well. You shared a kiss and headed to bed. Although what came next was what none of you could’ve expected.

At night you woke up. The house was engulfed in flames. Then Dagger picked you up. You protested saying it was too dangerous but he didn’t listen. His focus was getting you out. And he did that. But when he set you down he collapsed. You cried and cried, begging for help.

At first there was nothing then a voice followed by a scary figure appearing. He introduced himself as the demon lord. He gave you a choice. If you wanted Dagger to live you could. The price was you both would be turned into demons. You agreed quickly.

But when the change happened..it wasn’t pretty. His face, half of it you could see the bones. Dark hair and hollow eyes. You didn’t recognize him. Dagger didn’t seem to recognize you. He picked up Masa and left. You cried and screamed at the demon lord but he only laughed and took you back to the demon realm.

You changed. Your beautiful violin the only remaining piece of your past. You played it sadly. That’s how most of your days went. The demon lord enjoyed your songs. Made him sane. Didn’t let him get crazy.

You were a villain now. So one night you were sent up to terrorize the city humans. You did as told. But what you hadn’t expected was reinforcements from the humans. A group of young people. They looked like superhero’s the way they defended the city. You fought them off until they launched their ultimate weapon cannon on you.

You couldn’t dodge. You turned away quickly but someone stopped the shot with their sword. You couldn’t believe your eyes. It was Dagger. He saved you. You tried to speak but he grabbed your hand and quickly pulled you up to the cliff. The hero’s yelled some remarks but he sent the demon minions after them.

You and him walked back to the shore and you asked why he saved you. He said it was to rest his Masa. You asked if he remembered anything. He didn’t answer you. And with that he disappeared again.

You headed back to the underground realm. What other choice did you have?
