High school was always just about the three of you.
You, Lando and Oscar.
You've been a trio since freshman year. Like Harry, Ron and Hermione.
You do everything together.
Weekend go-kart racing, late-night FaceTime calls to study for exams or secret parties.
It was always easy between you.
Until it wasn't.
Something's changed recently. It wasn't obvious at first, just little things.
Lando randomly ruffling your hair and putting his arm around your shoulder.
And Oscar, who always takes you home, even if it means going completely out of his way.
They both insist on sitting next to you in class, and if one of them gets there first, the other gives them a look you don't quite understand at first.
Then there are moments that stick with you.
Like the time Lando taught you a racing game at his house. He sat close behind you, guiding your hands on the controller.
His voice was quiet, teasing, but when you turned your head to complain, you realized how close you were. His breath caught in his throat and his eyes flickering to your lips for a second, before he pulled away and laughed as if nothing had happened.
Or that time Oscar gave you his hoodie because it was cold. It smelled like him. Fresh, clean, and safe. You caught him staring at you more than once that day, something unreadable in his expression.
And, today? They're both acting weird.
You're at a friend's party, loud music, people dancing everywhere. You step outside to get some fresh air when you hear them arguing around the corner.
"She's not just your best friend, Lando." Oscar's voice is firm, angry.
"Oh, and she's yours? Mate, you think I don't see the way you look at her?" Lando snaps at him.
"Funny, I was going to say the same thing about you." Oscar says, angrily.
You freeze.
They're arguing. About you.
Your stomach turns and your heart pounds in your chest.
Should you just go back inside? Or should you interrupt them?
