"A... child?" Dan Heng's body was covered in goosebumps, his eyes wide, pupils dilating.
"Yeah. Y/n found it. She'd already taken it to Bailu on the way back. Bailu says he's healthy and... she wants to keep it. Y/n, I mean." Himeko informs, running her hand through her hair.
What was supposed to be a covert mission sneaking into a government base and stealing documents had turned into something else the moment you'd seen a child. It was messy. You'd thrown yourself into danger head-on because you were piloting alone. Caelus and March had done their best to support you, but Stellaron would have been injured if it weren't for Cloud Piercer taking the blow.
Due to Dan Heng's past, he'd never taken part in one of these missions, and this one was supposed to be no different but- a child. One who'd probably been through what he had. Maybe worse.
Himeko's words fell on deaf ears, and Dan Heng was all but running to the infirmary on the Express. He opened the door, swallowing thickly. There you were. Your back facing him. You'd turned at the noise, and then he saw it. A child. A young boy. Blue eyes and dark hair with a teal stripe through it. Little hands clinging onto you so desperately. Like it would die without you.
"Dan... Heng...?" You muttered, bruised, exhausted, and with plasters littering your skin. You'd risked your life to save the thing in your arms. You'd almost died. And Dan Heng was at a loss. The soft little creature in your arms stared at him with wide blue eyes.
