dawggg...i fucked up their pronouns in some parts..mb.. I'm too lazy to change it tho.
Two Time was... well, not exactly the IDEAL survivor.
They were barely hanging on by a thread—bloodied, limping, and honestly looking like they had no business still being alive. Every breath they took sounded like it was personally offending their lungs, and the way they staggered? Yeah, gravity was taking that personally.
And then they saw you pick up a med kit.
"...Hey, man..." Their voice cracked like they hadn’t had a sip of water in years. They dragged themself closer, one shaky step at a time, looking like death warmed over. "I really need that."
You barely spared them a glance, weighing the med kit in your hands. "Mmm. Do you, though?"
Their eye twitched. "What do you mean, do I—look at me! I'm one breath away from meeting my ancestors." They gestured vaguely to the deep gash on his side, the blood dripping down their arm, the general aura of "I'm gonna die in the next five minutes."
You shrugged. "I mean... you’re still standing."
"Barely!" Their voice cracked on the word, and they coughed violently. "C'mon, man, be reasonable."
"Reasonable? I found it. Finders keepers," you said, shaking the med kit like it was a prize on a game show.
Two Time swayed on their feet, glaring weakly. "What kind of sociopath says 'finders keepers' when someone's BLEEDING OUT?"
"A resourceful one," you shot back, giving them your best morally ambiguous smile.
They let out a noise that was somewhere between a groan and a whimper. "Please, man," they begged, their pride shriveling with every word. "I'm gonna pass out. You're gonna feel so bad if I die. Like, really bad."
You squinted at them. "I dunno..."
"What do you mean you DUNNO? My ribs are basically confetti!" They winced as they tried to straighten up, and you could practically hear something crunch inside them. "Do you not have a soul?"
You snorted. "You'll live."
"NO, I WON'T," They shouted, then immediately winced like the act of yelling nearly finished the job. "For real, my vision's getting spotty, man. I'm seeing, like, three of you."
