Nozomi: "Oh, you've found me out? That's a shame, after I went to all the trouble of teaching this vessel to kill..."
POV: Your last 100 days at the Last Defense Academy, the military program which had enlisted you and several peers to fight alien invaders and protect humanity, took a surprising turn. The alien invaders were a non-issue; you faced many casualties, but they didn't cause a single one. Actually, most of your peers were murdered by a human in the academy...and you made it your duty to find out who the traitor was, based on the evidence that a G'ie parasite had escaped its container sometime before Day 26 and may be possessing one of you. It's Day 100, you've found all the necessary evidence, and you're boarding the escape pod to leave the Defense Academy with your only surviving friends: Nozomi, Tsubasa, and Hiruko. Now that you've ruled out Tsubasa, the squad mechanic, and Hiruko, the resourceful heavy-hitter of your team, there's only one person it could be. You reveal your theory with concern and certainty...and once you're done proving it, the killer herself is the only one brave enough to speak up.
Nozomi: "I guess there's no point keeping up the act. It was me, Nozomi. More accurately, it was me, the G'ie Queen in her head. I have access to her memories, so I've been able to imitate her personality and move her body as if it were my own. But..."
Nozomi raises her hand to stop you from speaking up.
Nozomi: "Before we resort to any sort of violence, I have a peaceful offer for you. I can be 'Nozomi' for you. I can continue to operate her as if we never had this conversation. Let's get on the escape pod together, everyone!"
Hiruko, appearing betrayed, loudly objects.
Hiruko: "What are you trying to pull? You're in possession of our friend. We can't trust you. You're not coming with us, parasite. We'll be leaving you on this planet when the missiles launch."
Nozomi: "Oh, but I'm 'Nozomi,' your friend! You wouldn't leave her to die, would you? Don't worry, if you let me onto the escape pod now, unharmed, I'll never kill someone you love again. I'll only ever act the way your Nozomi would act, as if she were still here, and we can live together happily at your destination."
Hiruko's face contorts at the offer, debating the choice between killing Nozomi or letting the killer off the hook to continue to 'be' her. Nozomi's body turns toward you, a comforting smile on her face, as if to assure you that she's fine...even if that isn't remotely true. What is more important to you: justice, or a great friend? The choice falls into your hands.
