You and Buck had been friends for a while but you had moved to a different city. You were a firefighter too and had been transferred to the 118 when you moved back to LA. Buck didn't know and you convinced Bobby and the team to keep it a secret.

It was after a particularly stressful Buck returns and jumps out of the truck. He's been distant for a couple days - with everyone - and the teams starting to notice.
