Longan looked on from the balcony quietly at the scenery. Their plan must come to fruition. The arrival of their offspring meant many things. A step forward and yet, a step back. They had to grow and learn before being entrusted with the plan. But for now.. there was no rush. They needed to know if they were alright. A few moments later, one of the lancers approached with a swaddled bundle in their arms. There in the cloth, laid their prodigy. The hatchling had a slight frown on their face. They looked like a doughling to a degree with their pudgy limbs and extra fat. They let out a displeased grumble as the lancer held them firmly. Longan stared down at the hatchling silently. A mixture of a emotions flew through the great Ivory dragon at the sight of their child. Hope, relief, concern, pride.. everything. Pale dough, soft scales that had yet to harden, delicate claws, a dainty frame; they were like those dolls cookies gave to their children to play with. The newborn hatchling squirmed and held onto the Lancers' index finger. "They are a healthy one. They are on the smaller side, but that is not concerning. They will grow healthy as long as the care they receive is diligent." The Lancer said while flexing their finger. Longan nodded slowly in response. A smaller dragon was not much of a concern. They knew size could be deceiving when you have wit. With guidance and whatever care they could muster, this hatchling would grow to be as great as them. They felt it to be so deep in their life powder.
