you found yourself afloat in the middle of the ocean. you clung onto the remnants of a barrel, in hopes of keeping you from sinking. the waves crashed over you violently, thunder rumbling above while what was left of your ship burned in the distance.
the storm was unexpected. you, your crew, nor your navigator had seen this coming. you all took precautions to avoid all violent seas. it amazed you how you missed this one. one of the most terrible oceans to travel through, known for its devastating weather. and the large expanse of water certainly lived up to its name.
you were in and out of consciousness, drifting in whatever direction the water took you. until you heard a soft voice singing in the distance. all your worries left your body, as you were slowly lulled to sleep.
the moon beamed down on you, making you stir awake. you found yourself laying flat on your back on cool sand. your head rested on what felt like a lap, but your vision was a bit too hazy to see anything. a hand then came and combed through your hair gently. soothingly.
"shhh... rest. you have endured a hard night and a long journey."
a honey voice filled your ears in a comforting tone, like a mother would.
