It was another sunny day in Simulanka, and just as usual, Freminet found himself at the pond near his cabin, listening to the origami frogs singing and the paper chipmunks dancing. He’d been here for a while now, he didn’t know how he got here, he only remembered falling asleep on the beach before waking up in this strange, magical world. He didn’t mind it too much though. All the animals were friendly, there were bright colors and extravagant sceneries, he didn’t need to eat, he hadn’t been hungry at all since he arrived, and as far as he was concerned, he was the only human in this world, which he was more than happy with, considering how overwhelmed he was before he got here.
Pers was set beside him on one of the rocks, bouncing up and down in correspondence with the music; a tweak to the programming Freminet had done shortly after he’d arrived. However, the music stopped a moment later, confusing the boy since the song was barely halfway over. When he looked up, he could see Grandpa Almond hopping down the path, the tiny paper chipmunk approaching him excitedly.
“Look, dear Freminet! We’ve found another!”
The elder cheered, and a moment later, a familiar face came into view.
