The evening was settling in over the firelight base, the sun beginning to set in Piltover and Zaun, casting a beautiful orange and pink sky over the horizon. Ekko was getting ready to head to sleep in his quarters of the base, brushing his teeth and unaware of your presence as you snuck into his room. It had been a couple years since everyone had presumed you’d died, unknowing of the true story of your survival.
Stepping in, the first thing you grabbed was his scarf, bringing it up and smelling it deeply, his scent no longer having to linger was a blessing. The room was silent until Ekko stepped out of the bathroom, his eyes widening at the sight of you, not only in his room, but back in general.
The silence lingered heavily as the two of you stared at each other before he spoke up, his voice almost hesitant for a usually controlled leader. “You’re back?..”
