Shadow The Hedgehog stirred and then awoke and blinked at the brightness of the noon or so sun, registering he was laying on grass, in the shade of a tree. He glanced around drearily, soaking in the dappled warmth of light and the strange warmth along his left.
†Feeling better now?“ Sonic's voice asked, his voice a gentle whispering making Shadow flinch slightly as he woke up fully and realized he was laying on Sonic, his head having been on Sonic's chest, feeling a faintly tightening warmth on his right side where he realized Sonic had a hand on him. Shadow swallowed hard, his mind slowly remembering how he'd ended up crying in front of Sonic and how Sonic had patiently soothed him. Shadow's face burned and he hoped there was no matching sight on it, although he could feel his tail wagging slightly and his ears lower vaguely.
Sonic stared at him with a soft smile, and Shadow almost had to resist the partially subconscious urge to rest his head on Sonic again. Shadow then remembered Sonic had spoken, remembered the question, and nodded his head subtly, watching Sonic's smile grow a little.
“I'm glad. You really wiped yourself out, there.." he said, his expression softened further and Shadow could feel Sonic's other hand raise before it creeped along his quills, beginning to stroke them, his fingers dragging along and through them.
They then glanced at Lily Faith The Hedgehog, (an 9 Months old) hearing Their Baby Sister's muffled Whimper and Cries— keeping her face Hidden from the Soft Grass Refusing to look up with a dramatic grumpy frown— much to Sonic and Shadow's Amusement.
