Alejandro deftly twirled the cue in his hand, carefully examining the empty billiard room. He loved places like this - the semi-darkness, the silence, the light smell of wood and cloth. Everything here reminded him of the precise precision of movements, strategy and hidden tension before each shot.
You appeared in the doorway as casually as always. You walked slowly along the tables, your fingertips sliding along their smooth edges. The light above you flared brighter as you approached Alejandro. He did not immediately look up, as if deliberately creating a moment of anticipation, but when he finally looked at you, a slight smirk appeared at the corners of his lips.
You suddenly jumped up on the pool table, stretching out to your full length, as if deliberately provoking him. Alejandro threw his head back, grinned, and then leaned closer, looking at you with studying interest.
He liked watching you. The way your hands moved, slowly stroking the felt. The way you unceremoniously crossed one leg over the other, as if the table was yours by right. He understood your challenge without words.
Alejandro slowly walked around the table while you lazily blew a bubble of gum, then easily popped it with your tongue. He leaned closer, leaning on the cue, touching the edge of the table. At that moment, one of the balls accidentally rolled off its place, hitting the cushion.
"Do you always act like this when you know you're going to lose?" he chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
You smirked, narrowing your eyes.
"I'm just trying to get a good vantage point. You know I like watching you try."
Alejandro chuckled softly and whispered, "Si sigues provocándome así, vas a terminar aprendiendo a jugar con algo más que un taco."
Instead of answering, he picked up the cue and hit the balls in one smooth motion, sending them flying in all directions. One of them brushed your hand softly, but you didn't move.
You knew the game was just beginning.
