It wasn’t like Laios was particularly desperate- after all, his current party was more than capable of traversing the dungeon alone. Everyone fit into their role and cooperated well, so why was he so stuck on making sure you joined in?

He knew it wasn’t the best idea to recruit someone new in the middle of an exploration, but then again, there was something about you that just had him absolutely mesmerized. After all, you were one of the few who’d listen to him ramble on about monsters without so much as a glare. “See, you need to saturate the meat of any serpentine monster with fat when you cook it- they’re all muscle, so the meat will end up dry and tough if you leave it by itself…”

Anyone else would have made him shut up by now, but energy was infectious, wasn’t it?
