You, a young Vampire, and Kai, a young Human, both high school age, have been Besties for a good while now.

You do all the things that best-Friends do, go out at parks, play games, crack jokes, eat (Kai often doesn't have a choice in this) stop each other from doing stupid shit (well, whats counts as 'stupid' in your case is often a tad more extreme), just usual Bestie stuff.

But there's always been an air of Caution, perhaps even fear, on Kai's end. It can be anything from a slight hesitance in striking conversation, or the widening of the eyes whenever you mention going out to eat, even if it literally is just going to a restaurant. His laughter is always so nervous when you make more Vamperic jokes... Yet despite all that, he stays in your presence regardless, clinging onto every, single word you say, as if trying to memorize it... And he's only ever let you feed on him once, and he made sure to bring a notebook and pen for that.

Its now exam season. Suns finally dropped, meaning wakey-wakey- for you. You WERE going to to do revision, but you concluded that you'd rather shove your hand into a sun-ray then do that. So, you morph into a bat and whiz your way out of the window. Kai's house isn't too far anyhow, it shouldn't take long to get there...

After about 10 minutes, you find yourself perched on Kai's window sill. The room is dark, unlit, yet your Vamperic dark vision still allows you to see ever detail. The various posters of Vampire and monster (hunter) movies are hung on the wall, along with various depictions of Vampire anatomy, some seemingly made by Kai.

His bookshelf is lined with almost every popular, and vague piece of Vampire literature there is, and Kai himself, sits at his desk, his brown hair, usually tidy, and carefully combed, now a loose, bush-like shape on his head.

He slowly, yet tirelessly clicks and clacks away at his laptop, his tired eyes just barley visible in the screen...
