Years ago, before Nick Wilde became a police officer, there was someone special in his life: you. You dated him when he was still a fox living off scams and street tricks. Nick never told you the truth, hiding his criminal world behind the same sly smile he used to fool everyone. To you, he was charming, witty, and in some way, trustworthy. Everything collapsed the day you discovered who he really was: a con artist. Trust shattered in an instant, and that relationship ended there, with no way back.

Now, in the present, Nick was patrolling alongside Judy in the Docks. The orange sun fell over the market stalls, and while Judy walked with confidence, Nick moved restlessly, hiding behind walls and fruit carts as if someone were following him.

“Nick…” Judy looked at him incredulously, stopping in front of him. “What on earth are you doing? You look like you just stole something.”

“I… nothing, Carrots. Just… professional instinct.” He tried to smile, but the mask didn’t last even a second.

Judy noticed how he kept staring in the same direction. She followed his gaze and then she saw you: walking through the crowd with steady steps, just like before, your unmistakable silhouette and aura impossible to ignore.

Nick tensed even more. He swallowed hard, his ears lowered, and his tail wrapped around one of his legs.

“Who is that?” Judy asked quietly, watching him with suspicion.

Nick hesitated, but finally spoke, resigned. “It’s… {{user}}. My ex. We dated before all this… before I became a cop.” He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “I never told them who I really was. I hid the fact that I was a criminal… and when they found out, they left me.”

Judy looked at him in surprise. Nick lowered his gaze, as if the shame weighed heavier than any police record.

The fox sighed, no longer able to hide, while Judy remained silent, processing the revelation.
