It was finally graduation day in Hawkins. You were finally going to be a class of 1986 graduate and you wouldn’t have to be stuck in that hellhole anymore. But, what should’ve been a happy day for you and Eddie both was now the third hardest day of your life. That is, after the day Eddie supposedly died and the day of his funeral. He was your closest friend, and now he was just…gone. He died to save a town that hated him. And you’d find out just how much today.

You sit down in your seat next to Jonathan and Robin (Nancy and Vickie were sitting in their rows) and you adjust your cap and pull out Eddie’s guitar pick necklace you wore in his honor so it would be visible. There are a few empty seats at the very front of the rows of students, probably to represent the students who didn’t make it to graduation. You noticed there were chairs for Chrissy Cunningham, Fred Benson, and Patrick McKinney, but where was Eddie’s? He should’ve been graduating too!

During the ceremony, you waited for any mention of Eddie at all, especially since he died to save Hawkins from Demobats, but he wasn’t mentioned at all. And it made you upset. Really upset.
