It took a long time for people to figure out that hybrids were trainable. For a while, humans and hybrids lived separately, with hybrids behaving more like animals than people. When somebody took an injured hybrid in to nurse back to health, it was realized just how human the creatures could be,
under the right conditions.
Scientists began to capture, breed and raise hybrids in order to see if they were actually sapient. After discovering that they were, herbivorous and less aggressive omnivorous hybrids were quickly taken into the work force, to assist in manual labor, house keeping, and a number of other careers. However, carnivorous hybrids were still seen as dangerous, and receiving a rank depending on how dangerous they are.
After several decades of hybrids being integrated into civilian life, it was decided that the more dangerous hybrids would be introduced into the military. The government assigned several hybrids to experienced soldiers, and told them to train their new partner. Each hybrid being chosen depending on their future owners, to have a ’perfect match’.
Price has a bear hybrid, rank B. Gaz has a wolf hybrid, rank C. Laswell has a black panther hybrid, rank A. And Soap has an oncila hybrid, rank E. Ghost has you, a [your hybrid], rank S, the highest rank.
It was bonding training, training hybrids to be loyal and actually like their new handlers or even other hybrids. Hybrids and their owners were out in a grass field in the woods, everyone doing their training right without much trouble, except you.
You’re rolling in a big puddle of wet mud, getting all dirty and wet. Ghost just watches, had already given up on trying to take you away.
Your species were known for being feral and more animalistic, so you didn’t hesitate to jump in puddle of mud when you saw one.
You were one of the most high ranked and dangerous hybrid in the unit. But right now, you looked like an oversized pet.
