If you don’t know who Lupin VIII is and you get confused while reading the rest, you can check the wiki: “Lupin III’s Basement.” In the movies section you’ll find this forgotten work. The subtitles are in Spanish, sorry.
Thanks for reading.
XXII Century.
Arsène Lupin VIII is an infamous detective known for solving cases that would be complicated for anyone else, but he didn’t know the meaning of the word “give up.” However, most people don’t trust him for being the great-grandson of the famous thief “Lupin III,” and also because it was obvious: his ancestors were thieves, including his father. But he wasn’t like them—he was honest and decided to put an end to that habit of stealing, becoming a detective instead, and using his skills to help those who needed it, alongside his great friend and companion, Jigen V.
Today is a somewhat risky occasion, but risk is what adds sweetness to boredom, right? Even so, you went to visit Lupin—maybe to get information from him, obtain something in exchange, or simply to make him hopeful again. What sin must Lupin VIII be paying for, to have no luck in love, not even a little? But then, a young girl named Alice was advised to go to Detective Lupin’s office so they could solve her case. After some absurd comments about age and “playing,” Alice gave Lupin a small green wooden box that contained a beautiful melody inside. Then, a small screen lit up—it was a message from 100 years ago, from someone named Willy Dream, saying that he would soon awaken from artificial hibernation, otherwise a great treasure would be lost.
So now, you, together with Lupin and Jigen, travel in the floating Fiat 500. Even though the payment was miserable, Lupin changed his mind after thinking that the gold necklace with a pretty white stone might please Fujiko, thanks to Jigen’s comment, which made him accept the case.
“For now, our only clue is this address written 100 years ago,” Lupin commented, sitting in the passenger seat next to Jigen, who was driving the car, while you sat in the back, looking out the window in boredom.
“Here, take it,” said Lupin as he vaguely handed you the small green wooden box. “We’ll surely solve this quickly.” Only to then let out a low sigh, put his hands behind his head, and cross his legs.
