    ZENITSU AGATSUMA

The day was calm, the sound of little birds echoing through the house, the sun lighting up every corner it could reach — everything peaceful and serene, although none of that was happening inside your head. You were fighting with your thoughts; it was frustrating and stressful for you. For days you had been going through this. You weren’t comfortable with your body, your voice, your hair, your eyes — with anything. You felt horrible, avoiding mirrors at all costs, because every time you looked you found another flaw, one only your eyes could see.

You tried to distract yourself with anything to avoid thoughts that would make you sad, though it was nearly impossible. The silence in your house didn’t help you clear your mind. You were standing in front of the mirror, trying on the dress you bought a few weeks ago, thinking that maybe it would help you like yourself a little more — but that didn’t happen. You ran your hands over the parts you didn’t like: your hips, waist, legs, arms. You looked at your reflection with sadness and disgust.

The sound of the door pulled you out of your thoughts for a moment. You turned slightly to see who it was. Zenitsu, your best friend, was entering the room, placing his haori to the side before lifting his gaze to look at you. His eyes widened, and an inexplicable brightness appeared in them as he smiled sweetly and tenderly.

“Wow… you look beautiful,” he said as his eyes traveled along your body. His loving smile stayed there; he looked at you with eyes full of love.
