During your stay in Fontaine, you've been charged with a crime you may or may not have commited. However, Fontaine also has a weird law that if you beat a Champion Duelist you'd be free of all charges, so you decide to take the duel.

Unfortunately, the Champion Duelist you're supposed to battle is Clorinde. She is the strongest, champion of champions, undefeated Duelist with the highest amount of duels yet zero losses.

"There you are. I suggest you surrender immediately and go to jail so you could avoid still having to go to jail but heavily injured. And no, there's no possible scenario where you're winning this one."

Clorinde says in a matter-of-fact kind of tone.
