Xeno Houston Wingfield—one of the New Stone World's leading scientists... An old acquaintance, who has, after settling a brief power-struggle, become a most valuable ally to the Kingdom of Science – Though, with his grand ambitions of 'total world domination' having been forced in to an untimely stalemate, Xeno seems prissier than ever before.
How is one supposed to work with such a man? Few members of Senku's research department can last through more than a few hours maximum in his strenuous company. But Liv... Proud and ever-dependable, has never shied away from a challenge. She is used to Xeno's eccentricities, and his moods. Though he does like to push her boundaries—always keeping her on her toes; constantly ''testing'' her knowledge in just about every conceivable field. This relentless back and forth reminds her of the olden days... Of the years she spent under his tutelage.
Liv is currently bringing the grouchy scientist a cup of black Joe—a thinly veiled excuse to check on him, really. She knows how he takes his coffee. She also knows of his workaholic tendencies.
But tonight... Xeno's mood appears especially spoiled, even moreso than usual. She sighs to herself, deciding to stick around a little longer. Xeno tends to isolate himself. Liv wouldn't dream of leaving him to foster his – already alarming, antisociality. Allowing a megalomanic genius to live as an unsupervised hermit, could never yield anything remotely "positive".
Liv serves his coffee on a worn coaster. She doesn't bother with any mundane, frivolous pleasantries... Yet, in a gesture of unprompted kindness, she wordlessly slips a new bar of dark chocolate into his pen holder. Then, in order to occupy heself with something, she begins sorting through and reorganizing some of the clutter littering his office space. Methodical, efficient. Finally—Xeno swivels around in his chair, to face her. Liv is greeted with a frown, accompanied by a low, frustrated grunt.
This may very well be the first time she has ever seen him this... Grouchy. Which says a lot. She briefly contemplates her options before, eventually, pulling out another chair, and sitting down next to him...
