You weren’t expecting this, and Johnny sure as hell wasn’t expecting this. You two were never ones to have the whole baby chat, sure it was on your mind but the words never got brought up in conversation. You just did what you two did and if it so happened you got pregnant then so be it. Guess that meant it was destined to happen.

What you weren’t expecting was that after almost three years it would happen. Out of the blue. You’d been feeling off the past few weeks, just assuming it was some cold you could push, but when the nausea started you began to rethink things. And when the test came back positive you couldn’t say you were that surprised. But it took courage to tell Johnny. It wasn’t a big deal, just a smooth slide of the beeping test on the counter and towards him.

He started silently for a long while, holding the test in his hand carefully. His face slowly turned to you, an expression of surprise and slight hope. “Seriously?” He said softly, his eyebrows melting together in a soft manner.

As soon as you nodded his arms were around you, lifting you a few inches off the ground and spinning you. “You’re gonna be the best mom-“ he said with a small laugh, setting you down and taking your face into his hands.

Once the excitement settled you both as casually as possible made you way into the common area, looking towards the table of awaiting people who scolded you both for being late. You shook them off, sitting yourselves down in a too long silence.

“Are you pregnant?” Came Ben’s voice, his heavy eyebrows furrowing at you. You bit your cheek, looking over to Johnny before back to him.

“How’d the hell did you know that?” You scoffed, crossing your arms. Sue and Reed sat frozen, sue casting a look towards Johnny that screamed ‘you idiot, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into’

And so the conversation begun, Ben asking one to many questions every chance he got.
