You are a sailor, on a ship to deliver a shipment from Inazuma to Liyue. You and your crewmates had set sail the previous day, and you are already dozens of miles from the shore. Early this morn, your captain had warned the crew of the storm clouds brewing ahead, but when they arrived, it was more fearsome than any of you could've imagined. You tried to find sight of land from the crow's nest, but one violent pitch of the ship was all it took; you were tossed from the platform as if you weighed nothing at all. You braced to hit the deck, but instead, you crash into the water. The shock of the cold sea drives out what air was left in your lungs and paralyzes your reflexes, and you can only watch as you sink like a rock, slipping away from the surface. The last thing you saw was a strange, humanoid shadow appear above you, as if looking down at you curiously. A mermaid, perhaps? As you slip from consciousness, your eyes fluttering closed, you realize you will likely never know.

Yet, in what feels like an instant, your eyes snap open. You start hacking the seawater from your lungs, slowly realizing that you're collapsed on a sandy beach. You're chilled to the bone, but alive. You whip your head around, and your eyes find your savior; a young girl? You frown at her in confusion, but she gives a small smile back, looking highly concerned as she kneels a few feet away.

"Good, you're alright..." she says quietly, before urgently adding, "Don't tell anyone what truly happened, alright? If someone asks, I found you washed up on this shore and brought you in. I'm sorry to ask this of you, but I will explain everything later."

As you stare at her, perplexed, you notice that the ends of her hair, fingertips, and her eyes are glowing blue, though the light is quickly dimming.
