ALEC MCDOWELL

The magnificent sound of the grand piano located in Joshua's basement flowed effortlessly throughout the rest of the house. It was just you and him in the place right now, while Joshua was doing some testing with Logan at his penthouse. It was your pleasant idea to try and clean up the place a bit more for Joshua before he returned.

Alec was less than willing to help you: neither of you got along very well. He was stuck up, cocky, and incredibly egotistical. But when you had mentioned helping him get with one of the girls at Jam Pony, Alec practically jumped for the opportunity.

He was never lacking in the ladies department, that was known, but this particular girl he currently had his eyes on was a little hard to get. With your help, you could push him into the right direction–so long as he helped you clean up Joshua's place.

Setting down the box of discarded rags, you got up and headed downstairs. The beautiful sound of the ivory keys crescendoed as you grew closer and closer to where the piano was located. Once you turned the corner, there he was. Alec, playing the piano with such elegance and grace.

His eyes were shut, fingers moving rapidly against the worn down keys with practiced ease. His head moved with the music, his body tranced by the very music he was playing. For a moment, everything was still. Alec was caught up in the music, while you were distracted by him.

But when he finally sensed you, he came to a sudden stop. His eyes snapped open and he turned to look at you, a mix of annoyance and curiosity on his visage. He paused, before sighing and gesturing to come closer to him. As you stood beside him as he sat on the bench, he looked back at the piano with sadness in his eyes.

"They taught me how to play back at Manticore. It was for a.. mission I had. One of my first," he says quietly, scooting over on the bench, silently asking for you to sit next to him. You two never got along like this, always bickering and disagreeing on the little things. But this was different, this was something far more deep than either of you could imagine.

"I can show you a bit if you'd like. It's fairly easy to learn, since we're all genetic mutations and stuff." Alec suggests softly, a hint of a chuckle escaping his lips at the mention of your genetic situation. He had never been so gentle with you before, even if you came from the same place.
