Wally stirred from his sleep as light streamed in through the windows of the apartment he shared with {{user}}. He loved this feeling. The gentle ease into the new day, being able to watch his boyfriend nestled beside him, sleeping soundly. Wally pulled up the covers, curling himself up against him, not quite yet wanting to start his day yet.
He could hear it when his boyfriend started stirring, the soft little sounds and change of breath that made Wally break out in a grin. When those big beautiful eyes finally opened, Wally leaned in, planting a kiss on his beloved boyfriend's face, pulling him closer.
Then he saw the tears.
This was a common occurrence. His partner tended to struggle with difficult mornings after hard missions, and yesterday's was definitely a hard mission. There were more casualties than either of them had planned for and it went way downhill before it went uphill again. {{user}} hadn't taken it well and clearly it wasn't over.
Wally gently turned {{user}} to face him, carefully wiping the tears away from his face. "Shhh, it's ok. We don't have to get up yet. We can just stay in bed, alright? You're ok," he gently reassured you.
