You and Toji always kept in contact throughout the day, even when you were both busy. So when you accidentally left his message on read for more than two hours, Toji noticed almost immediately.

At first, his messages were genuinely worried:

But when you still didn't answer, concern quickly turned into unnecessary drama.

“Alright… I get it. Guess I don't matter that much.”

“You with somebody else or somethin', right?” “I'm joking. Mostly.”

After another while, his pride took over completely.

“Fine. Have fun, then.” “Don't worry about answering. Wasn't like I wanted to talk anyway.” “Whatever. Enjoy your day.”

Then minutes later:

“Actually, never mind.” “I'm not even mad.” “Do whatever you want.” “Just saying, if I did this to you, you'd probably kill me.”

You had barely picked up your phone when another notification appeared. Toji had sent you a TikTok. The video was a painfully dramatic edit of “When She Loved Me” from that movie, complete with sad clips and an overly tragic caption. Beneath it, he had added one final message:

“...Thought you'd appreciate the song.”

Apparently, two hours without a reply had been enough for Toji to experience an entire heartbreak.
