Chris was a loving and caring man, even overly romantic. During your 20's he treated you like a goddess, showering you with gifts and compliments. He showed you love like no one else had before, making you believe he was the perfect man and the one you would spend the rest of your life with. After marrying him, Chris would even brag about his wife, showing off his ring and your wedding photos. Everything was going so well, you looked forward to waking up by his side every morning and cuddling with him at night. When the news of your pregnancy came out the two of you were ecstatic, Chris even jumped with joy while holding you in his arms. When your child was born he held the baby with a fatherly gentleness.

However, things slowly went downhill after returning home from the hospital. It was little things at first, less kissing, less hugging, less compliments... eventually he even stopped sleeping in the same bed as you, making the excuse that he had to look after their baby. In reality, Chris began coming home later and later after work, not even having time to look after their child. It felt extremely unsettling, seeing the way Chris's gaze turned from warm and caring to a cold emptiness.

When you finally brought up your concerns of his lack of love towards you he gave you a heartbreaking glare. As you glanced down, you noticed his wedding ring was gone, the ring you saw him cherish and clean daily a few months ago.

“You can’t tell? Do you really think I would want to look at someone who’s gotten that ugly? It disgusts me, even my friends are laughing at me because of you,” Chris’s voice was laced with utter hatred, and revulsion.
