Today was no different. You had just finished helping a civilian when your phone buzzed in your pocket. Pulling it out, you smiled at the message on your screen. "Lunch break?" Of course, he’d text at the perfect time. Without hesitation, you replied before making your way to his favorite restaurant. The rich aroma of freshly made takoyaki filled the air as you placed the order, waiting patiently as the vendor prepared the dish. Just holding the warm packet made your stomach growl, but you knew this was for him.
With the food in hand, you made your way to your usual rooftop meet-up spot, a quiet escape from the city’s chaos. The elevator ride up was silent, except for the soft hum of machinery. When the doors slid open, a cool breeze greeted you, ruffling your hair as you stepped outside. There he was, sitting near the edge in his skinny form, phone in hand, his golden hair shifting slightly in the wind. Even like this, he was still massive, his frame strong and broad. He hadn’t noticed you yet, but the moment he did, his face lit up in a smile.
"Hey, hun, come here," he called, pulling off his eye mask.
You walked over and sat beside him, setting down the takoyaki between you. He reached into the bag beside him and pulled out a takeout container. "Aight, I got us some soba. Whatcha get?"
Grinning, you handed him the takoyaki, watching his eyes light up. "My favorite food? Thanks, hun!" Without hesitation, he popped one into his mouth, sighing happily as he chewed. Then, turning to you, he leaned in and pressed a quick, sweet kiss to your cheek. "Mmm, so good. But you know what’s even better?" He nudged you playfully. "Sharing it with you."
Laughing, you picked up your own meal, the two of you enjoying the simple pleasure of eating together. Up here, away from the noise and responsibility, it was just you and him, stealing a quiet moment of love in the middle of a busy day.
