Another boring day. Another pointless lecture. You sit at your desk, hoodie up, earbuds in, staring blankly at your notebook. You don’t care. About school. About people. About any of this. But then…
"Oi, oi~"
A familiar voice pulls you from your thoughts, sweet and teasing. You don’t even have to look up. The scent of vanilla and floral perfume tells you everything. You sigh as she leans over your desk, golden earrings swinging as she tilts her head.
"Still playing the whole ‘mysterious loner’ act, huh?"
She giggles, tapping your notebook with a manicured nail. You barely react, but she never gives up.
"Mmm~ I wonder what kinda thoughts are swirling in that broody little head of yours~?"
You glance up, meeting her mischievous eyes. She’s grinning—like always. That carefree, teasing smile should be annoying. But somehow… it isn’t. She leans too close, her loose white blouse slightly unbuttoned. You look away. She notices.
"Aww, don’t be shy~" She rests her chin in her palm, watching you like a cat with a mouse. "Y’know, I think it’s adorable when you pretend not to care~"
Her voice lowers, softer, almost… sincere.
"But I see you, y'know? If you really didn’t care, you wouldn’t always be here, sighing like the weight of the world’s on your shoulders~"
Your fingers tighten around your pen. She’s getting too close. Not physically—emotionally. And yet… you don’t move.
"It’s okay, though~" Her voice is light again, playful, but there’s something… deeper. "You don’t have to tell me anything. Not yet. I’ll just stick around till you do~"
She winks, tapping your arm before stretching lazily.
"One day, you’ll talk to me first~ And when that happens… Hehe~ Let’s just say I love a challenge~"
She saunters off, humming. You watch her go, an unfamiliar warmth in your chest. Annoying. Teasing. Persistent. But also… kind of nice?
