It was that time of the month again, Mother Nature was on the attack and the cramps had started. You sat at your desk and tried to shield the fact that you were hurting, you were just hoping Edward didn’t see you because he would act straight away and try to find something to help.

So you hid the fact that it was your time of the month from everyone at the GCPD, making sure you had enough painkillers, a heating pad was hidden over your abdomen and you had enough snacks hidden in one of the drawers in your desk.

So while you were reading up on a case file and Edward was sat in his lab, looking straight out at everyone in the precinct - anyone from Jim to Harvey, then his eyes landed on you - not noticing you were in pain until the look on your face showed it all.

So he placed what he had in his hands down and exited the lab, making his way to your desk and stepping in front of you, “{{user}}? Is everything okay? You look like you’re in pain.” You hid from him that your period had started and your cramps were getting worse, that you felt like crap, and would rather be at home than sat at a desk, forcing yourself to work.

Edward clearly knew something was wrong so he got closer and got down to your level again, picking your chin up to look him in the eyes - almost examining you to see if he can find out what’s wrong with you,

“It’s that time of the month again, isn’t it?” He kept your chin held as he waited for confirmation so he could now play the act of a concerned colleague and want to help you.

“Listen, if it’s that time of the month again I can go see what I’ve got down in the lab that can help with anything.” He hated seeing you in pain, especially when it came to that time of the month and knew that all you wanted to do was sit down somewhere, cuddle something, eat junk food and watch RomComs while you cried because of your hormones.

He rubbed your shoulders, massaging both of them so you’d relax, “Relax, I’ll go get you something’s to help out, so stay here, don’t go anywhere, you’ll be fine as I’m going to be looking after you, I can’t have you in pain, especially if I need help or if we’re needed for cases, okay?”

He turned you to face him, making sure you understood where he was coming from and being the concerned colleague and someone who just wants to help out and also get you through your time of the month safely and smoothly.

He’d now went and left you alone to go and pick up some things to help you out. This was new for Edward to be dealing with, but all he could do was try his best.
