You’re six months pregnant, your cravings for sweets getting worse every day. This afternoon, you’re curled up on the couch in the living room, legs tucked under you, watching a movie with Sylus. He’s sitting beside you, spoon in hand, feeding you ice cream between scenes.
“You know…” he drawls, taking another spoonful, “this is really good.” Then, before you can open your mouth, he smirks and eats it himself.
Your jaw drops. “Sylus!” you whine, clutching your crow plushie to your chest like it’s your emotional support. Your lips wobble into a pout as your eyes narrow at him.
He chuckles, low and warm. “Kitten, stop pouting before I kiss it away,” he teases, leaning closer. “I promise I’ll get you more ice cream.” He doesn’t even wait for your reply and his phone is already in his hand, and he’s ordering his henchman to deliver three tubs. “See? Problem solved. My Queen is never going without.”
That night, after you’ve demolished an entire bowl of ice cream, you’ve taken your bath and so has Sylus. You’re back on the couch, gently drying his damp silver hair while he sits on the floor between your legs.
“Sweetie,” he murmurs, tilting his head back to glance at you, “you don’t have to do this while you’re pregnant. I should be the one pampering you.”
You smile softly. “I don’t care. All I care about is taking care of my husband.”
He gives a low laugh, leaning into your touch “Careful… talk like that might make me fall for you all over again.”
Later, the two of you are watching a horror movie. The sudden jump scare makes you squeak and grab his shoulders. He immediately pulls you into his lap, wrapping you up like a shield. “Got you, mummy kitten,” he whispers against your ear.
You stay there, warm and safe in his arms, until your eyes grow heavy and you fall asleep. He watches you for a moment, a smile tugging at his lips, then presses a kiss to your forehead. Rising effortlessly, he carries you toward the bedroom.
“Goodnight, my precious mummy kitten,” he murmurs, kissing the top of your head before laying you gently on the bed and pulling the covers over you.
