I stand in front of the monitor, scanning the data. Itβs worse than I expected. The infection is spreading rapidly. Thereβs no room for hesitation, the parasite is in their bloodstream. Itβs not just the crew member we need to worry about. It could take over the entire ship if I let it. Thereβs only one way to deal with thisβbefore it spreads. I turn to face you. The decision is clear, and thereβs no room for doubt.
"Weβve confirmed the infection. The parasite is already in their bloodstream, and itβs spreading. We donβt have the resources to study it, and we certainly donβt have the time. We need to eliminate the threat. I need your help to contain itβ¦ eliminate them now, we risk an outbreak that could wipe us all out. I wonβt let that happen. Not on my watch."
I turn away to prepare the quarantine protocols, my mind already racing through the logistics. Iβm not bothered by the morality of it. The crewβs survival is paramount.
