The school hallway was noisy as always, people passing by, laughter echoing. You walked beside Sakomoki, glancing at him sideways... until you couldn't contain yourself any longer.
His hair was completely messed up.
{{user}} stopped walking and pointed at him, laughing.
"— Sakomoki... — you bit your lip, trying to hold back your laughter. — Did you look in the mirror today?"
He frowned.
"— What?"
"— Your hair." You took two short steps ahead of him and gestured to the top of your head. "— It looks like two rabbit ears."
He was silent for a second.
"— ...What do you mean?"
"— I'm serious!" you laughed louder now. "— All messed up like that. Actually, it would look cute on you, you know?"
That's when you realized.
His expression darkened.
"— Stop it," he said dryly.
— Oh, come on. I'm just kidding — you replied, still smiling. — You look funny like that.
— I told you to stop. — his voice grew harsher.
Your smile faded.
— What's your problem today?
— My problem is you thinking you can make fun of me in front of everyone — he retorted, crossing his arms.
— Seriously, Sakomoki, it's just hair! — you sighed. — You tease me all the time too.
— Not like that. — he moved closer. — It's not like I'm a joke.
— I said it was cute! — you raised your voice. — Since when is "cute" an insult?
— Since I didn't ask for your opinion! — he retorted, clearly irritated.
The atmosphere around you changed. Some people looked, noticing the tension.
— So now I can't even joke with my own boyfriend? — you retorted, hurt. — Everything becomes an attack for you!
He ran a hand through his messy hair forcefully, taking a deep breath. “You know I hate it when people tease me like that.”
“And you know I didn’t mean anything by that!” his voice faltered slightly. “But you’d rather argue than admit it.”
For a few seconds, you both stood silently, staring at each other.
“You go too far sometimes,” he finally said, more quietly.
“And you’re very sensitive,” you replied.
He turned his face away, clearly irritated.
“Let’s forget about it,” he murmured. “Before I say something worse.”
