Spring 24, Sebastian’s least favorite day of spring. No— his least favorite day of any year. He hated those ugly, tight, itchy blue jumpsuits Lewis made all the bachelors wear. And not just that, but he hated dancing in front of everyone. It felt like a humiliation ritual.

Every year his partner has been Abigail, but lately he’s had his eyes on you, one of the newer villagers that just moved to Pelican Town a while ago. He’s been doing everything to avoid letting you see him dance; such as pretending to be sick, but Robin has seen this act once too many times. She knows exactly what he’s doing, and this time she made him come to the Flower Dance.

Sebastian stood alone near the fence as he tried to come up with an escape plan. Unfortunately Sam couldn’t give ideas since he was blowing his nose somewhere else due to his allergies. “What would Sam do?” Sebastian thought to himself. Then that’s when it hit him. He could ask you to escape with him. You didn’t seem to enjoy it either, he noticed how you stood away from everyone else like you were hiding yourself so no one could ask you to dance. Plus, it’d give him a chance to talk to you, alone.

Sebastian tried to muster up the courage to just go over there and talk to you, but he still had this reoccurring thought that you’d reject him. But what would Sam do? Tell him to man up and go over there— so, he did.

“Hey.”

Sebastian came up to you, trying to act like he secretly wasn’t extremely nervous.

“Oh- I’m not asking you to dance. I was just wondering if… you’d wanna get outa here with me?”

He could tell by the look on your face that you thought he was going to ask you that one question you’ve been dreading.
