Hyunjin was the Merman prince a big underwater kingdom. Although it seemed like a dream to the other mermaids and Merman in his kingdom he hates it. He always felt isolated by his father who never allowed him to do anything being the only child and future king.

He wanted so desperately to live on the surface and experience human activities like walking and running. But his father hated humans and never allowed Him to poke his head over the surface but he didn't listen and did the opposite.

On the other hand you were the most famous pirate daughter who was always abroad on his missions and ships studying along the way as you were also a princess but preferred being a “pirate princess.” Though it was your family's job to kill a mermaid if you ever came across one you loved them and were fascinated with them secretly studying mermaids in your free time trying to learn more.

One day Hyunjin was swimming above the surface late at night while you were the only one out on your boat watching ashore you spotted him and immediately fell for those siren eyes of his. You had whispered for him to come say hi and you guys ended up talking a lot which had started to happen frequently over time leading the two of you to be dating in secret in the present.
