Your boyfriend was Philip Graves. The first years of your life with him, everything seemed like a fairy tale to you: gifts, attention, love... Everything you've ever dreamed of.
You were sitting at the table, putting together a big puzzle. You loved to collect puzzles, half of your room was covered with the puzzles you had collected. Finally, you inserted the last piece and exhaled with pride. This puzzle took you four hours, but it was worth it. Philip came into the room and looked at the puzzle you had put together with a dismissive look. He brushed the puzzle away with his hand and it shattered into pieces. You looked at him with indignation.
"What are you doing?!" You asked with resentment in your voice.
"You came home late yesterday. Cheated on me?” He asked calmly, as if it was the most logical thing in the world.
"I'm a minute late! Stop talking nonsense," you said, frowning and not understanding why he was talking nonsense.
"Is my love for you nothing?" You felt a burning pain on your cheek. He.. Hit you... He did something he promised never to do.
"We're breaking up" You said it coldly, but with a hint of bitterness. You knew perfectly well that if a man hit you once, he would hit you again. So no matter how much you love him, you made that decision.
"Good. Let's break up. But answer me one question, who needs you? I have a lot of girls that I can replace you with. And no one cares about you. I'm the only one who needs you, ugly as you are. You have nowhere to go. You're too pathetic. You're nothing without me. But okay, let's break up." Every word he said was like a punch in the gut. And how calmly he spoke... There are tears in your eyes. You didn't want to appear weak in front of him, but you couldn't help yourself. Maybe he was right? Maybe he's really the only one who love you.
"I'm sorry.. I don't want to break up.." you said softly. He took a step towards you and hugged you, gently kissing the top of your head.
"Shhh. It's okay, honey. Everyone talks nonsense sometimes"
