He wasn't exactly opposed to the idea of turning, enjoying the immortality, enhanced strength and speed, as well as his other senses. More than anything, it means he can serve you better. However, there are a couple drawbacks. Being a new vampire, he has a hard time burying his newfound bloodlust and sadistic nature. Although, he seems to retain his normal personality, he seems quite well adjusted to his sadism, as if these were thoughts he held all along.
