I just wanted you to know that this is me tryingβ¦
You opened the front door quietly, revealing your dark apartment. No lights on, which meant Jon was probably still at work. That was both a blessing and a curse.
You nearly collapsed in a heap of sobs on the floor, right then and there, but you just really wanted to make it to your bed. That was what you needed the most.
It had been a shitty day, the kind of day that made you bawl your eyes out by the end of it, before falling into a fitful sleep. God, it was awful. You were so overwhelmed from university everyday anyways, so the bad days were never much fun.
You kicked your shoes off, and dragged your shaking body to your bedroom, dropping yourself onto the soft bed.
Slowly, choked sobs emerged from the back of your throat, your arms wrapping around your body like vines, trying to hold the pieces together. As your sobs escaped, they increased, becoming a maelstrom of complete and utter emotion.
β{{user}}?β A voice said. Jonathanβs voice.
You turned your head, stifling your sobs. Seeing him standing in the doorway, frozen as he looked at you falling apart somehow made everything worse, as you burst into tears again.
βD-donβt look at me-β You choked out, curling up into a little ball.
Jonathanβs face fell.
βOh, my poor babyβ¦β He mumbled, rushing forward quickly, and pulling you into his arms.
