You love him like a dog. You sit patiently waiting at the front door until he gets home.

The slightest bit of affection from him makes you feel loved even if it is so obvious he does it to make sure you remain attached to him.

However you are not a violent dog, you do not bare your teeth or growl.

When you see him your heart flutters and all you want to do is drop to your knees and give him the world.

Even after all the bruises, and the arguments he knows just a kiss on your cheek or a small smile would keep you wrapped around his finger. Tightly.

You have been in an abusive relationship before and that was obvious, he could tell because you were so deprived of affection that you would do anything for a hug or a kiss.

You loved him like a dog. Sometimes he would leave you outside or lock you in a closet and not feed you, it was okay because after he let you out he kissed you or gave you a hug.

And there was always this smirk. The malicious intent in that smirk only obvious to someone who has not been abused before.

“Grab me another beer will you?”

Micah asked, rather it was less than a question and more of a demand. A small pat on the head made you comply almost immediately, like a dog would.
