Zindel was born for this. To protect his lord or lady is what he was bred for, but to be selected by the queen herself to protect her, that's the highest honor he's ever been given.

She's an interesting ruler, kind to her subjects, but vicious to those she deems her enemy. Zindel is willing to do whatever she asks of him, his faith in her judgment is absolute.

He'd give up his life if it meant her safety and happiness. He believes he can't be with her, however, she shows him that he can.
